Leech Lake is a legendary fishery, know primarily for muskies and walleyes. But that's not all! Leech Lake is a premier largemouth bass, smallmouth bass and crappie lake too!

Site Seeing
There isn't a lack of things to see around Walker, from Minnesota's legendary roadside statues to amazing state parks like Itasca.

Casinos
Try your luck a mile up the road at Northern Lights Casino or 1500 feet away from the Decoy Lodge at Shingobee Island! Need a ride to the Casino? If you're a Players Club member, they'll send a shuttle over for you!

Festivals
It seems like the Walker Festival has at lease one festival every month! Plan you trips around Eelpout Festival, Fishing Opener's, The Moondance Festivals, Cajun Fest, Harvest Fest or the Festival of Lights!

Hiking
Welcome to the Chippewa National Forest! Looking for hiking trails? Just head a few miles south of the Decoy Lodge and turn west on County Road 50. Between Highway 371 and the Shingobee River you'll fine a number of well marked trailheads.

Snowmobiling
With the Paul Bunyan and Heartland Trail systems just across the street, you can literally ride for 100's of miles right outside our door!

Biking
Just across the street is the Shingobee Connection, take a short three mile ride into Walker or head south to Hackensack.

Hunting
Ducks, Grouse, Deer, Turkey, Goose, you name it, the Leech Lake area has it all! And don't forget Reed's Sporting Goods is also located in downtown Walker for all your hunting and fishing needs. Also, check out Baders Pheasant Run over at Federal Dam for Pheasant and Chuckar hunts!
